In 2012, the Old Ironsides 1812 Discovery Center exhibit opened at the USS Constitution Museum. The permanent exhibit introduces the causes and consequences of the War of 1812 in ways that encourage family learning and engagement. Getting from concept to opening day took plenty of prototyping. During the summer of 2011, three graduate students signed up to prototype interactive elements mounted on tabletops and document their experiences on Family Learning Forum (the precursor to this website).
